South Mountain Magic

Basketball

MISSION STATEMENT

The Purpose of our program is to use Basketball as a tool to give female and male athletes an opportunity to develop moral and physical skills at a higher level. South Mountain Magic is committed to sharing knowledge about the game while improving their skills and fundamentals so they can compete at the high school level and beyond for the serious male and female athlete.

South Mountain Magic has been in existence going on three years. Our non-profit organization is headed by Tony Baker, a veteran AAU coach that took a team that won the Silver Medal in regional competition and placed 9th in the country in the D-II nationals in Orlando, Florida.

We are currently expanding in  Frederick, Washington and Carroll Counties. We have Coaching opportunities available for both boys and girls at age levels from 9U through 16U. If you want to become a Coach simply click the navigational icon for the correct gender and complete our on-line application. Our season typically runs March through July. If you have any questions fell free to contact our Administrator Chris Connolly at 240-313-0279.

Boys and Girls!

We are looking for serious Athletes to play for our club. AAU has become a big part of the College recruiting process and is the highest level of competition. We have teams from 9U through 16U and all have openings. Simply click on the correct gender and fill-out the on-line application. If you have any questions fell free to contact our President, Tony Baker, at 301-432-7117, 301-919-2071 or contact our Administrator Chris Connolly at 240-313-0279.

At South Mountain Magic, we have:

A convenient payment plan to meet all budgets with low start-up cost.

Perform Criminal background checks on all of our Coaches for the protection of our children.

Decorative uniforms without the high start-up costs of most clubs.

Registration is now open for Coaches and Players.

"The Seeds we sow determine the Fruits of our Labor"

Although a fairly new club, we've had a high success rate with our AAU graduates which relates back to our Mission Statement. As a long-term goal, we hope to construct a local five (5) Court basketball training facility. We started with only one girls team consisting of 10 players. Of that ten, we've graduated the following players having obtained college Basketball scholarships.
